The NFJPIA Region 6 In Retrospect
The Federation Year 2000-2001 of the NFJPIA Region VI – Regional Council (RVI-RC) was a grand moment. Various activities were performed promoting the organization’s goals and objectives with more focus in the service to fellow JPIAns as well as the community. During the previous year, with sincere dedication and hard work, the RVI-RC has been able to carry out projects which were indeed relevant and innovative. It has done such projects as conventions, interschool accounting quizbowls, trivia contests, symposia, and other joint projects with PICPA and other local chapters. The RVI-RC held two conventions during the federation year 1999-2000. The conventions became the venue wherein the JPIAns from all over Region VI were given the chance to get together once every semester. These were held to foster fellowship and solidarity among the JPIAns, as well as to develop them into well rounded individuals:
The Accountancy Week (AW) is a nationwide celebration of the National Federation that falls on the 3rd week of July. Here in Region VI, each provincial federation celebrated the week with series of lectures and seminars conducted by renowned speakers from various accounting firms and from the PICPA. To culminate the week, the NFJPIA RVI-RC Officers as well as the provincial federation officers were inducted. The Provincial Assembly (PA) was designed last federation year. It is a venue wherein JPIAns of respective provinces will have a chance to meet and be with the Regional Officers. This is being done to foster fellowship and solidarity among JPIAns. Various activities were included in the PA like seminars, symposia, and cultural competition. The Leadership Training Seminar (LTS) a two/three day activity that aims to provide rudimentary skills in leadership, personal motivation and sound decision making which will be very beneficial to help the Regional Council Officers to be effective in their respective positions. The Outreach Program (OP) is a voluntary activity that share the value of extending help to the needy without expecting something in return. The RVI-RC has a lot to be proud of not only in its worthwhile activities but also in its numerous achievements in the national competition during the national MYC & YEC. To update, the following are the results: MYC at Naga City
YEC at Bacolod City
It is with great dedication that these activities were done with the help of one another. Indeed, the organization has been through a long way of service in promoting academic excellence and professional competitiveness.
